Going Down Easy: A Review

Going Down EasyMeet Kaden Barnes.

Alpha-licious in the most unexpected ways, Kaden Barnes always gets what he wants.

Enigmatic and exacting, he’s unable to keep an assistant for long. Until Lexie Parker arrives. She’s no-nonsense, efficient and all business… She’s also hot as sin and soon starring in Kaden’s dirtiest fantasies.

When their passion for each other reaches a boiling point, Kaden may think he’s calling the shots, but for this billionaire bad boy, going down easy has never felt so good.

My Review 2

Lexie begins the story preparing for her first day as a personal assistant to some technology company. A tech genius leading a successful company, she never expected her boss to be anything other than some geek who managed to make it big. Kade IS that geek, but he’s also … well, he’s hot. And Lexie is thinking some non-boss like thoughts. But, she needs this job, so she puts them aside.

Kade and Lexie are both characters that have much more to them than meets the eye. Their pasts carry some similarities, but it’s safe to say both are facing life with some hesitation. As I learned more about them in the story, the more I was grateful such aspects of life were addressed.

Something that I missed was a little more background. Not for these characters particularly, but in general. This is the first book in a new series, and even if loyal readers may be familiar with characters, it’s nice to get to know them a little more in the first book. For me, I didn’t feel extremely included in their world.

This story addressed some heavy issues without making them seem to overwhelm the story. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but I want to say I was impressed with how the issues lived in the story without the author having to go into too much detail. I wouldn’t have minded a little more focus on them, but the story flowed well as is.

I’m interested to learn more about the rest of the guys! If you enjoy a romance with not as much angst, you’ll enjoy this book. Just a touch of intrigue and uncertainty to keep you hooked!
