A Bookworm Review by Ana

Fail to Fight

Contemporary Romance

I give this book 5 stars!

Can love hurt? Can we forgive? Be Happy? Find closure?

Have a look at the blurb:

An emotional story of unrequited love…

Now, I ask you not to condemn the man I loved without knowing all the details. What he did was inexcusable and unforgettable, yes, but I wanted to forgive.
What I struggled with was why he left me scared and broken, without a fight.
With no goodbye, no closure.
And without closure, there was no moving on.

Visions of her would haunt my dreams for all eternity. That night destroyed my world and changed my life forever.

Fail to Fight Ebook Cover.jpg

It’s always nice to meet new authors and their works, and when those works can speak with us is even better.

Maci Dillon is a new author to me and the way this book marked me, I will without a shadow of a doubt follow her career closely.

Her writing is simple, delicate and with great attention to detail.

“Fail to Fight” tells the stories of Chloe and Will.

The way this book began made me understand that I would find an intense and captivating story.

I loved the fact that the chapters change between the past and the present.

Chloe is a business woman who was very hurt in the past by the person she never expected.

Will is a successful businessman. In the past made a decision that changed his whole path and that he regrets to this day.

Will it be too late to change the past? Can we have a future when the past brought only sorrow and hurt?

When I finished reading this book I was with a mixture of joy and sadness. Joy because the book is just amazing and sadness because I wanted more. Honestly I thought the story was going to unfold in another way but it didn’t. It was totally different from what I was expected but I loved it anyway,

The level of feeling in this book is so high that I was willing to cry in sad scenes and laugh in joyful scenes. I loved it and that is why I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Maci Dillon please don’t take too long because I don’t know if I can stand the waiting.

New Release – Evading Fate by A.M. Myers

A Bookworm Review by Ana

Evading Fate

Contemporary Romance

I give this book 5 stars!

There are book that can touch our heart and this book was one of them.

Have a look at the blurb:

I’ve been running from it most of my life – doing everything I can to avoid the future it had dictated for me. If I had learned one thing from the hell I went through as a child, it was that I never wanted to go back.
Until I ran into someone who was running from her destiny just as hard as I was.

And it just so happens that she’s one of my best friends.

One night, emboldened by alcohol, she does something that has me questioning everything and it doesn’t take me long to realize that maybe instead of running away from something, I’ve been racing to her all along. But there is fear in her eyes and I know that her fate won’t be so easily shaken.

Will I ever be able to work past her fear to show her everything we could be? Or am I destined for the same kind of desolate life I’ve been fleeing from since I was a kid?

Another enigmatic title made me think what would be its true meaning. I found myself wondering if I would find a love story or a story of escape and suspense.

A.M. Myers is a new author to me and that made this reading cautious. First because I didn’t know what I would find and then because I didn’t know what kind of writing or plot I would have.

And every time I finish a book I want to beat me because I note that all these fears were groundless.

Her writing is very simple and quite funny which made reading rather soft and fluid.

Evading Fate tells the stories of Addilyn and Trey.

Addilyn is a woman determined to do what needs to be done in order to achieve success and because of that she’s a successful business woman. When you had some wonderful parents with a wonderful love story we tend to want the same, but sometimes that’s not always easy.

Trey is a man with a past marked by neglect and abandonment. When his mother died he was fortunate enough to be adopted by a great couple but the traumas are still there. He feels that something’s missing in his life. In spite of his past he wants to find what he lacks, he wants to find love. But it is not always easy and sometimes we don’t notice what’s right under our noses.

This book was without doubt one of the most intense I’ve ever read. The level of feelings that are exploited in this story is of such a high level that became overwhelming.

The unknown, uncertainty, love are explored in a way that made me glued to the book without wanting to stop reading. I feared for the happiness of the characters, I cried through the sorrows and laughs for the joys. And the hot scenes were hot and breathtaking. Oh my god …

A.M. Myers I am speechless. I love what I’ve read and now I want more.

New Release – After We Fall by Melanie Harlow

A Bookworm Review by Ana

After We Fall

I give this book 5 stars!

Happy new release.

Are you ready for a breathtaking story? A story that will rock your world? Are you sure?

Have a look at the blurb:

Jack Valentini isn’t my type.

Sexy, brooding cowboys are fine in the movies, but in real life, I prefer a suit and tie. Proper manners. A close shave.

Jack might be gorgeous, but he’s also scruffy, rugged, and rude. He wants nothing to do with a “rich city girl” like me, and he isn’t afraid to say so.

But I’ve got a PR job to do for his family’s farm, so he’s stuck with me and I’m stuck with him. His glares. His moods. His tight jeans. His muscles.

His huge, hard muscles.

Pretty soon there’s a whole different kind of tension between us, the kind that has me misbehaving in barns, trees, and pickup trucks. I’ve never done anything so out of character—but it feels too good to stop.

And the more I learn about the grieving ex-Army sergeant, the better I understand him. Losing his wife left him broken and bitter and blaming himself. He doesn’t think he deserves a second chance at happiness.

But he’s wrong.

I don’t need to be his first love. If only he’d let me be his last.

Oh my god as I was so anxious to start reading this book. Seriously, I was super excited because this author for a long time has raised my interest.

When the opportunity arose to read her work I did not hesitate.

Melanie Harlow isn’t a new author to me, I mean, I knew her because of the reviews and indications from other readers but this was the first book of hers that I’ve read.

Her writing is simple, intense, detailed and addictive. The way she indulges in her words can hold on in a way that it is impossible to stop reading.

“After We Fall” tells the stories of Margot and Jack.

Margot is a woman used to live in luxury. Her parents are rich and so all she wants, she gets. Margot had everything, money and love until all of a sudden everything collapsed. How can she recover? Is it possible to rebuild a broken heart? When things start to settle her past lover come back. But can she forgive? Go back to the fairy tale? At least one thing in her life is certain, her friendship and the job she loves.

Jack is a lonely man. Hates surprises and that people want to intrude on his life. Loves his job, but when he discovers that his brothers hired a PR he does not react well to the news. He lives in constant darkness because he lost his reason for living. How can you recover from losing the love of your life?

Can two broken hearts find happiness? Can they love unconditionally again? Is it possible to fall in love without losing their essence?

I was speechless when I finished this book. The way the story unfolded was perfect and with extreme sensitivity.

I loved the ups and downs, the lost in translation. I loved the love present in each chapter. I loved the uncertainty and insecurity of some of the characters.

And the hot scenes were of an intensity and an eroticism that I can’t describe.

Melanie I was a fan of your writing and if I was already anxious before I read this book, after reading it I was even more. I can’t wait for your next book.

The Hitman’s Property (A Bad Boy Mafia Romance Book 2) by Tia Lewis

A Bookworm Review by Ana

The Hitman’s Property (A Bad Boy Mafia Romance Book 2)

Romantic Suspense

I give this book 5 stars!

This was the perfect ending for one amazing series.

Have a look at the blurb:

I’ll go into the depths of Hell just to protect her.

As a hitman, my life is simple and about one thing only–kill my mark. Women are just a bonus. They don’t govern what I do or who I kill.

I don’t do emotions. I don’t talk about my past. And I certainly don’t fall in love.

At least until I rescued Tess.

I never thought I’d fall for a woman like her–blonde, beautiful, petite, and with mesmerizing blue eyes that see right into my tainted soul.

But when she’s threatened, my protective instincts kick into overdrive.

She’s mine. She belongs to me.

The Russian mafia is getting more desperate to get her back, and I’ll be damned if I let her go. I’ll risk my life a thousand times over, and I’ll take down any f*cking bastard who stands in my way.

Even if the consequences end up deadly.

The Hitman’s Property is a full-length dark romance novel that’s intended for mature audiences only. This novel address issues of a serious nature, including violence surrounding the nature of consent that may be a trigger for sensitive readers; contains disturbing situations, graphic language, violence and explicit sexual content. Reader discretion is strongly advised.

If there’s one thing that makes me extremely annoyed is when a story ends at the best. Seriously. When we’re in the middle of reading when everything happens at the same time and bamm, the story ends. And I’m even angrier when I have to wait for the next book.

That’s how I was when I finished reading The Hitman’s Possession. I didn’t wanted it to end and especially the way it did. There were many unanswered questions and the unknown makes me anxious and super nervous.

When I started reading The Hitman’s Property I just prayed that I had all the answers to all the questions and concerns.

One thing you should have in mind is that you should read first The Hitman’s Possession otherwise you won’t understand this book.

This book continues to tell the stories of Tess and Liam.

My god, so much has happened that I didn’t know how to take it all in. The way that this history developed left me with my nerves coming to the boil.

The thriller, crime, horror were present in this plot as well as love, desire and hope.

The fear of the uncertain, the panic, not knowing what was going to happen next or if the characters would survive was something so overwhelming.

Of course, the hot scenes were so intense and passionate as they were in the first book.

This was without a doubt the perfect conclusion to a perfect series.

Tia Lewis I’ve already said this before but I will say it again that you are amazing.

I already was a fan of your writing and now I’m obsessed and I want more.

New Release -Dirty Money: A Dark Mafia Romance (Alpha Men Book 1) By Tia Lewis ans Roxy Sinclaire

A Bookworm Review by Ana

Dirty Money

Dark Mafia Romance

I give this book 5 stars!

Wanna get inside the mafia? Wanna be scared but at the same time excited?

Have a look at the blurb:

I loved being a con man. Especially using my IT background to rig online poker to make money. But my dad got in trouble with the mafia, and now the head of the mafia, Frank Sputafuoco, wants me to do his dirty work. If I don’t get him the millions of dollars he wanted by the end of the week, he said he’ll kill my dad and rat me out to the feds.

He sent Destiny to me to make sure I stuck to the plan and didn’t try to pull one over them.

I didn’t know what she looked like when they first mentioned her to me. But after one look, I knew she had to be mine.

Angelo, the man I was supposed to end up and his ruthless father sent me to Alex to try to squeeze as much money as possible from his clients. I had no intention of doing anything except make sure the job was done.

But then I overheard Angelo talking about having someone be killed by accident. And I knew he was referring to Alex’s dad.

I didn’t know what to do. Or who to trust. I can’t believe he would do something like that!

I got closer to Alex. Closer than I thought I would. But could I really get away from this mafia family I was supposed to join? Would Alex accept me, coming from the mafia? I don’t know. But I knew I was willing to take that chance.

Dirty Money is a full length standalone dark mafia romance novel. There are NO cliffhangers, NO cheating, and a GUARANTEED happy ending!

When we like an author we’re always eager for more books to read, I know what I’m talking about because as soon as I heard that this author had one more book I barely could fit in myself. I was so happy.

As you know Tia Lewis is a super gifted author, very attentive to detail and can evoke feelings in us who are very well hidden.

Dirty Money is a work co-written by Tia Lewis and Roxy Sinclaire and let me tell you that I am astonished.

It’s amazing how the writing of these two authors merged and created this work of art.

This book explores the lives of Destiny and Alex.

Destiny is a beautiful woman but that is tied to the Mafia. For her life she is obliged to obey the wishes, whims and follies of the Chief’s son. She is taken to seduce customers with which they will do business.

Alex is a smart and determined man that is forced to work for the mafia in exchange for his father’s life.

By working side by side with Destiny the attraction is palpable but impossible since this beautiful woman belongs to the leader.

Is the line between attraction and love so thin?

Will love speak louder than fear?

A lot happened that will let you super nervous. My god the suspense is at its highest level.

How far can go the madness of a man? Is it possible to escape the clutches of the mafia?

I can’t answer that question but I can tell and ensure that the reading will be worth it.

And the hot scenes will drive you crazy.

And now ladies? There will be more books co-written by you?

I hope so because this mix was explosive.

A Faery's Kiss ebook cover.png

There’s nothing like get out of our comfort zone and venture in, and that’s exactly what I did. I’m not much given to the paranormal but this author managed to put in my mind the pet of curiosity and here I am

Ariel Marie managed to captivate me because of previous works so the expectation of reading this book was way to high.

For all lovers of the paranormal she’s your author, without a shadow of a doubt.

Her writing is complex and due to the subject she discusses is applicable. And the fact that the book is written in the third person makes the story even more personal.

The Faery’s Kiss discusses the stories of Noelle and Ryo.

Noelle is the Princess of the Faery Kingdom and is the nicest and cordial person. She has a special friend Marric. They are mystical creatures that share an unconventional friendship.

Ryo is a man on a mission. Entering the tournament in order to win the hand of Princess Noelle in marriage.

A lot happens is the story became addictive.

The betrayal, ambition and wickedness were in great prominence as well as love, loyalty and honor.

The erotic factor was present and very very hot.

I have to surrender and say that Ariel Marie manage to convert me to the clan of the paranormal. I loved this book is I want more.

Book Review: Veil of Vines

V.jpgTo most people, princes, princesses, counts and dukes are found only in the pages of the most famous of fairytales. Crowns, priceless jewels and gilded thrones belong only in childhood dreams.

But for some, these frivolous fancies are truth.
For some, they are real life.

On Manhattan’s Upper East Side, people have always treated me as someone special. All because of my ancestral name and legacy. All because of a connection I share to our home country’s most important family of all.
I am Caresa Acardi, the Duchessa di Parma. A blue blood of Italy. I was born to marry well. And now the marriage date is set.
I am to marry into House Savona. The family that would have been the royals had Italy not abolished the monarchy in 1946. But to the aristocrats of my home, the abolition means nothing at all.
The Savonas still hold power where it counts most.
In our tight-knit world of money, status and masked balls, they are everything and more.
And I am soon to become one of them.

I am soon to become Prince Zeno Savona’s wife…
… or at least I was, until I met Achille.
And then everything changed.

[Book review originally featured on Ramblings of a Bookworm]

I am a huge fan of Tiliie Cole. I discovered her through the Sweet Home series and continued on to love all her works. When reading the synopsis for this book, I was a little apprehensive. Not because I thought the story would be poorly written, but rather that I had gotten attached to the darker side of her writing.

Within the first two chapters I was totally in. The story resembled a modern day fairy tale with princes, duchesses, and all sorts of blue-blooded royalty. I loved that it took place in Italy and brought with it the rich history of the country’s winemaking. The story centers around the beautiful tradition of winemaking and we get the chance to see behind the scenes.

Caresa is part of a blue-blood family where she has many responsibilities. A lot of those are more … obligations to her family and their legacy. She is about to enter into a marriage with a prince she has never met in order to keep her family’s reputation intact. The union between herself, and Prince Zeno, will help to restore faith in both families’ business.

As Caresa travels to Italy, she learns more about her future situation, more about winemaking, and more about herself. She discovers a secret while on the property, but more than that she truly finds herself.

I loved this story much more than I thought I would. It had so many elements in it which not only made me smile, but touched my heart. I will say that there was a point in the plot which I sort of predicated, and I was a little disappointed I was able to, but following that the story took some interesting turns. I also truly enjoyed the characters and their development. I’m hoping for some of these characters to get their own stories *cough* Zeno & Pia *cough*.

If you’re a fan of Tillie Cole, I recommend this story. It’s a little different from what we’re used to, but a beautiful story nonetheless. It is somewhat reminiscent of the Sweet Home series in writing, so it took me back to when I discovered my love of her books to begin with.

New Release – Beauty Mark by Stephie Walls

A Bookworm Review by Ana

Beauty Mark

Contemporary Romance

I give this book 5 stars!

Happy release day Stephie Walls

How far can one go in order to achieve a dream? It’s healthy to sacrifice our jobs and stability for that dream? This book will show you just that.

Have a look at the blurb:

A soaring career…
A fractured heart…
Left in shattered shards of stained glass.

Aspiring author, Callie Clark, finally achieves her most-coveted goal, landing a contract with a highly sought-after publishing company. Reeling from the pain of a broken heart, Callie puts her love life on hold.

Focused solely on her career, the dream she’s faithfully held onto becomes taunting, and the higher she climbs, the faster she falls.

When tragedy winds itself through triumph, Callie learns to open her heart again. But it might be too late when a visitor from her past resurfaces and threatens the dream she clings to.

It’s always nice to meet new authors and is even better when their books can talk to us. Seriously, I am a bit radical, because if a book can’t captivate me in the first few chapters I think it’s not worth continuing to waste time, but when I get stuck just because of the first pages I know that that work promises.

Stephie Walls manage to do just that, grab me with such force that it was impossible to stop reading. The nervousness was present because you never know what can happen when you have a contact for the first time with a work of an author but very soon realized that all these fears were groundless.

Stephie has a simple, intense writing and with much attention to detail. The way she expresses through her work managed to grab me in such a way that I can’t describe. She literally managed to score me.

“Beauty Mark” is a very intense book and with a very detailed insight about a super common theme. The fight for winning, for getting and pursue our dreams, our convictions and never give up no matter how hard the obstacle seems insurmountable.

This book tells the story of Callie a successful writer. But her life has not been easy but when you believe in a dream you tried to do everything to catch up. How can you live after being really hurt? Will a broken heart can regenerate again and love?

This book, this story has been one of the most intense I’ve ever read. The level of feeling, hurt, sadness and love in every chapter were so intense that it made me feel what the characters were feeling at the time. Friendship, camaraderie and loyalty are also present. And the hot scenes? Oh my god, the hot scenes were explosive.

Stephie there were parts of the book that I feared to continue reading because I thought I wouldn’t make it through the course of the scene, but I just couldn’t stop. The need to know more, to know what would happen motivated me and almost forced me to keep reading.

And now? How do I overcome this book? Do you have any masterpiece for me to read? I hope so.

New Release -Moody: A Bad Boy Sports Romance by C.M. Seabrook

A Bookworm Review by Ana

Bad Boy Romance

I give this book 5 stars!

Happy release day C.M. Seabrook

Girls get ready for  a book that will increase your heart rate.

Have a look at the blurb:

Heartbreaker. Playboy. Reckless. Wild and Rough. Those are just a few of the names she’s called me, but I don’t care as long as I get what I want – her heart.

She deserves more than I can give. Problem is she’s all I want. The smart thing would be to stay away. And believe me I’ve tried. I’ve kept my distance for four years…and time’s up.
Isabelle Stewart is mine.

I’ve been a fighter my entire life, and I’m not afraid to fight dirty – especially for her.

This novel is a full-length contemporary sports romance novel. Book contains mature themes, steamy, sexual scenes and graphic language.

With everything that has happened in my life these last few days there’s only one constant, my books and my TBR list is growing so fast before my eyes and a breakneck pace I just want more.

When the opportunity arose to meet this new author I didn’t hesitate. I knew I had to read this book and so I grabbed it with tooth and nail.

C.M.Seabrook as I said at the beginning is a new author to me. Just looking at the cover of this book gave me the chills, in a good way of course. Her writing is simple, fairly detailed and very intense.

“Moody”, what does this word means? Is it a guy? Is it a feeling? This though crossed my mind for a while but when I started to read it all made sense. This book is switched between the views of Moody and Izzy.

Moody is a fighter. He’s The Destroyer. He’s a private and determined man. He doesn’t care what others think and so His façade of a badass man is always high. A mistake has changed his life and it’s why he tends to punish himself every single day.

Izzy is a beautiful woman determined to be great. She followed her calling to become a doctor. Was very hurt in the past and that’s why she don’t believe nor in love and much less in the happily ever after.

The whole story unfolded in a very smooth with a few frights in the middle. With a lot of mystery and suspense, which made this an extremely addictive reading. I know what I’m talking about because I was able to read this book in 5h. And I want more. I loved the fact that C.M. Seabrook has a kinky mind like mine, because the hot scenes are something very but very intense and detailed. I am unlike normal people because first I read the second book in this series and as loved it so much now I want to read first. Many questions were in the air in need of answers.

To all fans of beautiful and intense story, without a lot of whining, Moody is definitely your book.

New Release -Ballbuster (A Playing Dirty Sports Romance Book 1) by Lane Hart

A Bookworm Review by Ana

Sports Romance

I give this book 5 stars!

Happy release day Lane Hart.

A new way to see that when we want something we need to fight for it and never give up, even if the odds are against us.

Have a look at the blurb:

~ Kohen Hendricks ~

Out of all the football stadiums in the world, why did Roxanne “The Ballbuster” Benson have to plow through mine?

Don’t get me wrong. I’m all for women playing professional football. But what I’m not for is The Ballbuster waltzing onto my field, trying to take over my position as the Wildcats’ starting kicker. The woman dislocated my knee with her freaking Jeep, for chrissake, and yet all of my teammates love her!

So what if Roxy’s…gorgeous and sweet and loves football more than anyone in the world? This is my team; and once I recover, she’s gonna have to get used to sitting her fine ass on the bench. It’s nothing personal. Football is a dirty sport where only the best survive.

Now I just have to figure out how to survive a season without ending up with a busted heart; because despite how hard I try to avoid falling for Roxy, she keeps pulling me back into her bed.

Forget her Jeep. With one look, the woman can bring me to my knees. And the worst part is, I keep going back for more.

***Ballbuster is a full-length standalone romance. Also included at the end of Ballbuster is a bonus novel, the bestselling sports romance, JAX.***

As much as I may seem boring and repetitive I have to say that each time I know that this magnificent author has a new book I feel so so happy that I almost float.

For those who do not know, honestly I think is not possible since this Lady is a genius, Lane Hart has a simple writing, very detailed, heartfelt and really hot.

We, the real fans, know that each work is a masterpiece waiting to conquer the literary world and that’s why we think it is imperative that everybody has the opportunity to read them.

“Ballbuster” is her latest work and tells the stories of Kohen and Roxanne.

Cohen is the famous football player from the Wildcats team. Is the one that everyone wants to be, that some men envy and every women desire. Loves his work and wants to be the best. When he gets the news that a woman will come to his team he doesn’t want to believe. Everything goes well until it is hit by a car.

Roxanne is a woman determined to avenge in the male-dominated world. Loves to play football but because she’s a woman life has never been easy. When she gets a contract on a first League team all her dreams come true, until runs over the star of that team.

This book is hilarious. The whole story unfolded in a harmonious, simple, intense and sincere way. I loved every chapter. I loved the ups and downs, the madness, the comedy and the misunderstandings and follies. My god the hot scenes were something explosive and intense. And as always, Lane just leave me wanting more to read, wanting to keep the story flowing for the main characters of this plot as well as left me wanting to know more about the secondary characters.

Will I have to wait too long? Because as the days goes by its becoming difficult to endure the wait.
