Contemporary Romance

I give this book 5 stars!

Love… Why Fight it… Just go for it

Have a look at the blurb:

This story is based on actual events. As the reader, it’s up to you to determine what is fact, and what is fabricated, for it will never be revealed, to protect those involved. You just may be surprised.

Love. Who needs that? Who would want that? Who hasn’t had their heart split in two, because they were never their first option, and damn sure their second. I have. But I stayed. Why did I stay? It was love. I wanted to finally feel that I was wanted. It didn’t matter if he thought I was worthless. It didn’t matter if he degraded me, because he felt like it. Any love is better than no love…right?

Every day, I’m haunted and tormented. When, I look in the mirror I see a failure. A failure that let people that needed me down. I worry that it will happen again. If it happens to the people I care about the most, I don’t think I could live with myself. Can I put my torturous past behind me and start to enjoy life? Especially now that I have a reason to live it?

Warning: Certain Scenes may cause a Trigger, or make you uncomfortable. If it does, then I did my job. You’ve been warned.

There are things in life that can make us blind. Love is the most powerful one and we can’t ignore it, we simply can’t so when we find it we need to grab it. I’ve discovered my love for books only a couple of years but I’m addicted. I want to ignore the outside world and just read and read until my eyes hurt. This book just came to reinforce my statement. Wanna know why? I’m not spoiling so grab it and read.
Marie Skye is a new author to me but I can assure you that I’m hooked really bad. Lol
Her writing is simple, appealing, intense and with hot stuff in the mix,  just the way I like it.
Suddenly Us portraits the lifes of Gwen and Hawkins.
Gwen is a sweet girl, shy and very reserved. She’s insecure about herself mainly because her mom is always criticizing her. But this is not her only problem, she don’t want to get involved with anyone because she was very hurt in the past, let’s just say that she hadn’e found true love.
Hawkins is a security man that enjoys his work.  He’s tormented by things that happened in the past and because of that he don’t trust easily. He doesn’t want to give himself to anyone because he’s afraid to fail. He’s afraid to let them down so he prefers to be alone.
I was speechless and nervous when I ended this book. Wanna know why? Because this book is so intense that will leave you breathless. This story has everything, from love to hate, from crime to punishment, from happiness to sadness, it really was the total package. So good, oh my lord, so good. And the hot scenes were breathtaking, dirty, hot and intense as hell.
I know I’m walking backwards but now I want to read the first three books from this series because I want to know the begining of Emmalin and Grayson.
Thank you Marie Skye for this amazing book.  Dayum woman… I’m addicted.

Marie Skye is your average career driven woman by day, and a hidden lover of all things dirty by night. Or, as she likes to say, professional by day; author whore by night.

If it’s dark, and full of inappropriate material. She’s attracted to it. She prefers making her character’s work for their happy ever after, if they get one, and she has no problem making sure they endure every obstacle to try to get there. She’s known as not having a filter, and if she’s asked for an opinion, be prepared to get a response that’s most likely a mixture of sarcasm and bluntness.

Marie is the type of person that can be friends with anyone, but if you have cake, you’re pretty much her best friend.
