The Wife Pact: Emerson (Six Men of Alaska Book 5) by Charlie Hart and Chantel Seabrook

A Bookworm Review by Ana

The Wife Pact: Emerson

Dystopian Romance

I give this book 5 stars!

When you think that things can’t get worse…you will be surprised.

Have a look at the blurb:

When an ultrasound reveals the truth about Tia’s pregnancy, the compound is riddled with fear. They know that it means one thing — death. Unless Banks can find a cure.

Stress weaves its way into Tia’s heart and a break from the harsh reality is just what the doctor ordered. But a trip to Emerson’s family home reveals yet another hidden secret and Tia is confronted with a shocking reality. The man she thought she knew so well has been keeping the truth of who he is from everyone.

Emerson has his own demons. Can he finally prove himself to the woman he loves? And will she learn to trust him before it’s too late?

The Wife Pact is book five in a six-book dystopian romance series, which must be read in order. The passion is high but the stakes are even higher. Tia and her rugged husbands are in the wilds of Alaska fighting for their lives – and for their love.

#MyReview:

Oh my lord… I was almost insane waiting to read this book because the way that the previous book ended I wanted more. I’m being transported into this world that I can almost feel their pains. I’m serious.
Charlie and Chantel managed to grab me and can’t let me go. Their writing is intense and forbidden, dark and mysterious and with so much hotness into the mix. Oh boy… The hot stuff…
The Wife Pact is their latest release and it’s the fifth book from the series… And what a series. But you need to read all books in order because if you don’t you will not understand this series. Trust me.
This book continues to explore Tia and her husband’s story, but we will get a closer approach to Emerson’s story.
Tia’s goal is to get pregnant in order to be able to stay living with her 6 husbands in Alaska. But how can she risk her life? How can she risk losing her husbands?
Jeez this series is getting better and better. The story is progressing in a way that it has the ability to take my breath away, to make me curse, to make me hot. I can’t explain how I’m feeling right now because I’m overwhelmed.
The plot is magnificent, super engaging and intense. Things were happening in a way that I wanted to slap someone or to hold them. Each character has their own personality, their quirks, likes and dislikes and I love them all.
Sweet baby Jesus… The hot scenes are to die for from pleasure. That’s a good way to go… Lol
But I’m so mad right now. Mad because it’s over, mad because the way it ended will make me go crazy with want. Why girls? Why end this like this? More please and fast.

Zach (Hell’s Handlers MC Book 1) by Lilly Atlas

A Bookworm Review by Ana

Zach

MC Romance

I give this book 5 stars!

You can deny all you want but it will get you…

Have a look at the blurb:

Toni’s no stranger to making mistakes. She has experienced firsthand how walking down the wrong path can send life spiraling out of control. Fortunately, she had someone to drag her from the gutter and help set her on the right track. As penance for the poor choices of her past, she pledges to suppress her baser desires and focus on finding a steady, dependable man, even if that means embracing a boring lifestyle.

The last thing anyone would call Zach is dull. As Enforcer for the Hell’s Handlers MC, he embodies the outlaw lifestyle. When Toni moves in next door, Zach can’t resist the possibility of a quick, hot, fling. But he soon discovers she’s not the easy conquest he’s used to.

While Zach works to convince Toni she belongs in his bed, a tenuous relationship with a local gang disintegrates and threatens his MC family. Zach’s world is turned upside down when he’s unable to keep the danger from touching his club.

As Toni fights to resist Zach’s pull, her own peace is shattered by demons from her past. With enemies both old and new barreling down, she throws out her rules and turns to Zach for aid. Soon, she finds herself firmly entrenched in Zach’s dangerous world.

Is it possible for her to curb her desires, or is she doomed to repeat the mistakes of her past?

None of it will matter if Zach can’t keep their enemies at bay.

#MyReview:

My world is complete. I have a new MC book in hand, ready to be devour I’m a sec. I’m so happy for two reasons. First is a new MC book, a genre that I love and second is a book from an author that I adore.
It’s been a while since I had the chance to read a book from this author and I couldn’t start it fast enough.
Lilly Atlas is the author in question and I love her books. Her writing is hot and wild, sweet and sour, with so much love between the pages but also some drama and hate. Yep… It’s the total package.
Zach is her latest release and it’s the first book from the Hell’s Handlers series. OMG… This is the start of a new series…. Dayum…
This books explores the lifes of Zach and Toni.
Zach is the total badass. He’s an enforcer for the Hell’s Handlers MC and he knows what he’s doing. He loves this lifestyle, good booze, beautiful womans and motorcycles… Yep… Like I said… He’s a badass with a capital B. One look at his new neighbor and sparks fly out…
Toni’s life has been a constant battle. Mistakes we all do but she has done it over and over again. After her parents passed away due to an accident she was forced to go back to her hometown to take care of their funerals, settle the estate and get the hell out of there because memories are to painful to revisit.
And then Zach crosses her path.
Jesus… What the hell happened?? This was a great beginning of a new series…
The plot is intense, super engaging and powerful, full of madness, crime, desire, loyalty. Dayum all that happened in just one book. It was explosive.
The chemistry between the characters is raw and despite all that happened they fight with their last breath.
It was amazing all the scenes, all the fights and the desire was super high.
I knew that this lady would create a masterpiece and I was stunned.
Oh Lilly this book is freaking awesome. I loved every page and can’t wait for what’s about to happen.

4 Zach show you

Excerpt:

Prologue

Tennessee 2008

It was finally fucking over.

Or maybe it was just beginning.

Either way, years, years of busting his ass, taking shit, and being treated like a worthless maggot were finished.

The vote was unanimous.

He was finally a brother.

Well, he was ninety-nine-point-nine percent of the way in. They couldn’t just vote him in and chuck him the patch he’d been salivating over for the past two years. No, they had to throw him one last challenge, and a bitch of a test it was.

A branding. The Hell’s Handlers Motorcycle Club emblem. On the left forearm. It was as important as the patches on the leather cut each brother wore. So important, if a man was tatted on his left forearm he couldn’t even prospect. No, the emblem had to be seared into clean skin, so anyone and everyone would know who belonged to the motorcycle club.

And if being branded wasn’t bad enough, there were rules that went along with the barbaric ceremony.

Every brother had to be in attendance. Heckling, ribbing, waiting to see just how much the new member wanted to be a part of the life. Waiting for them to crack.

No screaming.

No tears.

No passing out.

A grunt of pain was allowed, but beyond that, any outward show of weakness would null and void the unanimous vote to end the prospecting period and make him a fully-patched member of the Hell’s Handlers MC.

He wouldn’t make a peep. They could cut his fucking arm off and beat him with it and Zach still wouldn’t utter a sound. That patch was his, and the only way he’d give it up was if some lucky motherfucker managed to pry it from his cold, dead hands. Even then, he’d haunt the bastard and wear the thing as a spirit.

A shrill whistle cut through the raucous laughter and drunken male partying around a huge bonfire. The fire was necessary because the night air was barely butting up against forty degrees. And, of course, the guys made him stand around shirtless while he waited for his fate.

Usually, the sound of fucking made up much of the party’s noise, but not tonight. This was just for the men, brothers in all but blood. At least this early part of the night. After Zach got his patch, they’d bring in the club pussy and he’d have his pick of the litter. One, two, hell even three women if he wanted. He’d earned it, watching brother after brother partake in the sweet privilege that was not bestowed on prospects. Club pussy was for patched members only.

And now he was one.

His dick twitched in his pants but died the moment his president spoke. “Okay, fuckers, listen up.”

All around him, his soon to be new brothers lowered their drinks and gave their leader, Copper, their full attention. At twenty-nine, Copper was young to be in the role of club president, and since he’d been at it for almost four years, he was officially the youngest leader in the club’s near fifty-year history.

“We’re just minutes away from welcoming another brother into the club. Shit, Zach’s been one of the best prospects we’ve ever had. Tough as fuckin’ nails, pulls more than his own weight, never runs his mouth, loyal.” A puff of steam drifted from Copper’s mouth as he spoke to the group.

The prez wasn’t one to be fucked with. A good few inches over six feet, with a beard the color of a dirty penny, and plenty of hair to match, he was mean as a starving pit-bull. But Copper had the respect of every man in the club. Not just because he held the title of president, but because he’d earned it, dragging the club from the brink of disaster and making it a thriving brotherhood once again.

Zach blew on his hands, trying to infuse some warmth into the frozen digits. Damn, it was colder than a witch’s titty and standing around shirtless for the past half hour hadn’t helped anything.

“Just one more test of this asshole’s strength before he gets to be one of us. Ready, boys?” Copper waved Zach over to the mountain of wood crackling and spitting sparks. Sticking out of the bonfire, a long branding iron roasted away, just waiting to scorch some of Zach’s skin.

Shouts of encouragement and a few hecklers betting on how much of a pussy he was and what octave his scream would hit reached him as he made his way to the fire and his waiting president. Careful to keep his expression neutral, Zach drew up next to his prez and paused. Wasn’t that the whole point? Act like he wasn’t scared. Wasn’t about to shit his pants in anticipation of what would probably be the worst physical pain he’d ever experienced.

Fuckin’ Copper’s facial hair split and his teeth gleamed in the flickering fire. Prez lived for this bull. And if he didn’t, he sure acted like he did with that shitty grin of anticipation. “Anything you want to say first?”

Zach shook his head while he bounced on the balls of his feet, hitting his pecs as hard as he could. Maybe if he could get some pain going somewhere else, the burn of the iron wouldn’t be so bad.

“Won’t work,” Copper said, as though reading his mind. “Tried the same thing when I was in your spot. Ain’t nothing gonna make this shit any better.” He bent and retrieved a bottle from next to his foot. Zach had no idea what was in it, moonshine probably. “You know the drill. Bottle in your left hand. Ten seconds to drink as much as you can. Hold your arm out straight. I’ll mark ya. No dropping the bottle. No spilling. No screaming. No puking. Stay on your feet for two whole minutes. Then you’re a fuckin’ brother.”

Zach nodded. His chest rose and fell in a rapid rhythm as his breathing increased and the blood raced through his veins. After blowing out a breath, he grabbed the bottle and brought it to his lips, tilting his head back and opening his throat as much as he could.

Some of the nastiest hooch he’d ever tasted flooded his mouth and streamed down his throat, burning a path to his stomach. Fitting really, since he was about to be burned all to a crisp anyway. Somewhere in the distance, he could hear his soon to be brothers whooping like a horde of wild baboons, but he managed to drown out most of the noise. All but the sound of Copper counting down from ten.

“Three…two…one…arm!”

Zach tore the bottle from his lips and extended his arm. Unable to look away, he stared in fascinated horror as the glowing end of the iron made contact with the thin skin of his forearm. There was a fraction of a second where his eyes registered the flesh-to-iron connection, but the pain hadn’t yet reached his brain.

And then it did.

All-consuming, searing pain like he’d never experienced fired through his nerve endings. Though the spot being branded was no bigger than a silver dollar, agony seemed to encompass his entire being until he couldn’t recognize where it originated from. Then there was the audible singe accompanied by the stench of melting flesh. He wasn’t expecting that.

Blinding pain was a phrase he’d heard before, but in that moment, he lived it. Darkness clouded his vision, and he slammed his knees back, determined not to succumb to the blissful oblivion that hovered just out of reach.

All around him, men screamed and hollered, but he couldn’t make out their cries over the rushing in his ears. Nostrils flaring with each forceful inhalation and exhalation, he mashed his teeth together, probably pulverizing the enamel, as he fought to remain conscious.

Then, the nausea hit. Instead of helping to lessen the pain, the damn moonshine sloshed in his gut and started a trip back up his esophagus, just as disgusting the second time around.

His eyes locked with Copper’s. The grinning bastard was definitely enjoying it. All the more motivation to remain standing, quiet, and avoid vomiting the moonshine all over.

Copper pulled the iron away and tossed it to the ground, but it did nothing to diminish the agony. After what seemed like an eternity, Copper pulled his gaze away and checked his watch. Seconds ticked by slower than the thickest motor oil dripping from an engine. Finally, he looked at Zach again and this time his smile was genuine, welcoming. “Two minutes, brother.”

Brother. Sweeter fucking words had never been spoken.

Copper grabbed him by the elbow and lifted his throbbing arm. The pain was still there, but now the rush of excitement at achieving his two-year long goal overrode the worst of it. That, and the moonshine was kicking in.

With a loud cry of triumph, Copper held up Zach’s branded arm. “Say hello to your newest brother, men.” Cheers rose up all around.

Zach swayed on his feet as pain and nausea still warred for victory over his consciousness.

Copper whistled, reigning in the crazy. “He’s now to be shown the same respect any other brother receives. He’s going to make a damn fine addition to the club.”

Zach’s chest constricted as pride surged.

“Proud of you, brother,” Copper said, for Zach’s ears only. “You were one hell of a prospect, and you’ll be one hell of an addition to the club.”

“Thanks, Prez.”

Raising his voice again, Copper turned to the rowdy crowd. “Now someone get Zach a beer and some pussy. The man’s waited long enough.”

They wouldn’t be giving him any pain medication for the burn, but losing his dick in a club girl should take care of the last of the discomfort.

Brothers converged on him from all angles, slapping his back and welcoming him. Not only would the moment be burned into his skin forever, but it was seared into his brain as well.

Best night of his life.

He was in.

Now it was time to set his sights on an executive position.

Enforcer would do quite nicely.

Just-Like-Grey-Kindle-2.jpg

#MyReview:

It’s strange to read a new genre from this author since the books that I’ve previously read were my favorite genre of all times. I’m a sucker for MC books and now she has a new genre… Will I like it? Or not? Oh boy… What should I do?
Jessie Cooke has been a constant in my reading life and her books held me hostage just by reading the first chapter. Her writing is hot and wild, free and forbidden, with so much meaning and feelings between each chapter. And now I’m about to embark on a new adventure…
Just like Grey is her latest release and tells the stories of Alex and Izzy.
Alex is a billionaire that has more money than Midas. He can have everything that money can buy but there are things that money can’t give you. He’s a ruthless man when it comes to business but in the heart department he’s a bit insecure or out of luck. How can you earn something without having to buy it?
One beautiful woman enters the cafe he was at and.  .
Izzy is a beautiful girl that’s completely lost. She lost her job and it’s been a struggle to survive. Being in the fashion department was her dream job but when the company closed she was left with nothing.
When a stranger offers her a job she can’t belive him. Why would he do that? She’s a nobody…
It was a different reading that’s for sure but this doesn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy it. I liked it but I didn’t love it. Does it makes sense?
I’m used to have this author giving me stunning MC books, full of crime, drama, darkness and hotness and this book was so different.
The plot was good, well written with hotness into the mix as well as deceive and greed.
The characters share a great chemistry and the hot scenes were good but I miss something.
It was an easy reading but I wasn’t stunned like I normally am and I hate feeling like this.
Jessie Cooke you are amazing and it breaks my heart to say that I didn’t love this book. You know that I love your writing but this book wasn’t it for me.

Excerpt:

“Mr. Romaletti, are you okay?” The sweet little waitress that served Alex his coffee every morning for the past two years looked genuinely worried as she set the cup down in front of him. He didn’t even have to order it any longer. As soon as the girls saw him walk in, they fired up the espresso machine. They were good people…and of course the fact that he often left them tips in the hundred-dollar range probably helped.

“I’m okay Gigi, thanks. Just have a lot on my mind.”

“Well good,” she said, not looking convinced. “Can I get you any breakfast this morning?”

“Nah, I’ll have something at my meeting later, thanks.” She smiled and left him alone. That was really what he’d been looking for. When you’re the most successful “activist shareholder” in the US and parts of Europe, people have a tendency to not leave you alone. That’s why Alex was usually surrounded by bodyguards and house staff, or office staff, or someone else that generally only serves to annoy him. Today he’d sneaked out of the penthouse while his bodyguard was having breakfast and flirting with his new cook. It wouldn’t take long for the man to realize Alex was gone, and he figured by the time he finished his coffee, the big ape would be waiting for him outside the cafe. But at least he’d gotten his morning walk in without having to engage in mindless chatter.

The bells on the door rang and he looked up. A woman walked in with a look on her face that rivaled his for misery. He was miserable because he’d just broken up with his long-term girlfriend, Kelly. It was an amicable breakup, no screaming or shouting or dramatics. They both just knew the relationship had run its course and for that he was grateful. But…and he hated to admit this even to himself…he hated having not having sex on speed-dial. Not that the sex with Kelly was even that great. It was average at best and lately had even crossed the line into boring. But it was there, readily available. He didn’t have to pay for it…well, not outright anyways, and he didn’t have to drag his bodyguard around a club while he picked one out for the night. Who he was made pussy easy…but unlike a lot of men, easy was never what turned Alex on.

He watched the woman walk up to the counter. Something about her drew him in. She wasn’t his usual type. She was wearing an over-sized gray sweater and jeans, and a pair of soft suede boots with fur around the top where she’d tucked the jeans in. Her hair was pulled up underneath a knit band made to keep her ears warm and long, dark strands hung messily down her neck and some spilled out around her face. Her cheeks were flush and she didn’t look like she was wearing any makeup, even on the long, dark eyelashes that surrounded her dark blue eyes. Maybe that was because she didn’t need it. Despite her messy appearance, she might well be one of the most breathtaking women Alex had ever seen…and in his business, he’d seen a lot.

“A small coffee.” He heard her say. “With room for cream.”

“Sure hon,” the girl behind the counter said as she rang it up. “Any breakfast today? We have some amazing, fresh pastries…oh and our new breakfast sandwiches are…”

“No!” The woman snapped it out and then almost instantly seemed to regret her tone “I’m sorry,” she said, sounding sincere. “The coffee is fine.”

While the girl got her coffee, Alex watched the woman’s pretty eyes in the reflection of the pastry shelf glass. She was looking at the pastries like they were bars of gold. When the girl came back with her coffee, it took her a few seconds to refocus her attention. When she did, she handed the girl a fistful of change. Alex watched the girl count it out…there were even pennies in the mix. This woman wasn’t miserable because she was wondering where her next piece of ass was coming from. She was miserable because she was hungry. Alex instantly felt like an ungrateful ass. Here he was with everything that anyone could ever want. He was always warm, always had plenty of food in his belly…fine food too, that new chef of his was a five star…and, if there was anything else he ever wanted, all he had to do was pull out his wallet…anything. Yet here he was, feeling sorry for himself while people around him were starving. Yeah, he felt like a really big ass.

While the woman with the dark hair was putting cream and sugar in her coffee, Alex got Gigi’s attention and waved her over. “You change your mind about breakfast?” she asked.

“Not for me, Gigi.” He took two hundred’s out of his wallet and said, “Will you fix a couple of your breakfast sandwiches and maybe two or three turkey sandwiches…some pastries, whatever. Put it in a bag and make sure that woman there gets them on her way out. You can keep the change or put it in the bag with her food.”

Gigi looked over her shoulder. “She does look hungry, doesn’t she?”

“Yeah.”

“I’ll make sure she gets the change Mr. R. You’re a good man.”

He laughed. “That’s debatable, but thanks. Make sure she doesn’t know where it came from, okay?”

Gigi nodded and smiled before taking the money and going back behind the counter. Alex watched the woman, trying not to stare and attract attention to himself as he did. He was worried she’d leave before Gigi got the bag ready for her. When she started for the door without it, he almost called out to her himself. But Gigi was earning all of those big tips he’d left her over the years.

“Miss! I’m sorry, could you come back for a second please?” The woman looked worried and glanced nervously around the crowded cafe as she headed back to the counter. Alex averted his eyes when she looked at him, but as soon as he back was turned, he found her pretty face in the bakery counter once more.

“Is something wrong?” she asked Gigi, almost meekly.

“No. But this is for you,” Gigi said, handing her a bag that looked like it might bust wide open.

“Oh no, I think you made a mistake. I just had coffee…”

“No, one of my customers asked me to make sure you got this.” The woman looked at the bag and then glanced around the cafe again. This time Alex let their eyes meet. He smiled slightly, she gave him a nervous look in return before scanning the rest of the restaurant.

“I don’t know what to say,” the woman said.

Gigi smiled and said, “Sometimes our customers do this and all they expect in return is for someone to pay it forward someday when they can.” Alex smiled again. Gigi was good.

“Oh, well…please thank them for me if you can.”

Gigi gave her a sweet smile and said, “I’m sure they know how much you appreciate it. You have a wonderful day.”

“I will…you too…and thank you, again.” The woman tucked the bag under her arm, glanced around the room again, this time letting her eyes linger on Alex’s face for a few moments. Did she guess it was him? She smiled nervously this time and then quickly headed out the door, bag in tow. Alex waited a few seconds so that she didn’t see him watching and then glanced over his shoulder. She was waiting to cross at the corner and looking down into the bag with a look of wonder on her pretty face. It gave him a warm feeling and for the first time in years he began to wonder if maybe it was time to get out of the corporate raiding business and do something more philanthropic. He laughed, almost out loud. Wouldn’t that turn the corporate world on its ear? Alex Romaletti…corporate raider extraordinaire…heartless, cold, callous…richer than God, turns philanthropist. He was suddenly feeling better than he had in weeks. Just the thought of how the rich snobs he ran with would take it, tickled him to his core. Maybe his funk wasn’t so much about Kelly as it was about boredom. Maybe he just needed a change.

* * *

Alex still had an hour before his meeting after he finished his coffee, and surprisingly, his bodyguard hadn’t shown up yet. He thought about firing him for being so inept and laughed out loud again as he wondered if he was losing it. He stepped outside into the cool, New York morning. It was early September and the leaves were all just beginning to turn. This morning was cooler than usual, but he liked it. He pulled his coat around his shoulders and headed off in the direction of Central Park. His stuffy bodyguards never let him stroll through the park, so he was going to do it today just to spite them.

He walked up to Fifth Avenue and crossed the street into the park. Alex grew up in New York, so Central Park had been a part of his life for as long as he remembered. He loved the way it was a mixture of all the different classes and cultures in the city, and for the most part, everyone mixed peacefully. It had its bad sections of course where tourists could be easily pick pocketed, or purse thieves practiced their art, and the sections thick with the homeless and downtrodden, with their cups held out, begging for a morsel of hope. But the beauty of the now fiery trees, thick grass, rolling hill, statues, fountains and ponds, far outweighed the inconveniences in Alex’s opinion. He walked up the hill toward the Conservatory waters, and then past the Boathouse and in the direction of the Bethesda fountain and lake. He stood looking out at the water for too long and when he finally headed toward 72nd Street and past the Strawberry Fields, he knew he would be late for his meeting. But…it was “his” meeting, so he also knew that everyone would wait. Strawberry Fields had been his favorite spot since he was in college. He used to bring his textbooks and sit on one of the benches under the shade trees and study in the tranquil silence as John Lennon watched on from his place in Beatles Heaven.

He was happy to see that today it wasn’t crowded, just a few homeless people here and there and an older woman with a book, sitting on one of the benches. He was about to stroll on through and get to his meeting when something caught his attention. A homeless man sat with his back against one of the trees. He had on a long-sleeved shirt, but no coat and shoes with holes in the toes. His face looked as if it hadn’t been shaved in a year or more and the crumbs of whatever he’d scavenged to eat still appeared to be embedded here and there. But the man wasn’t really what had caught his attention. It was the woman who had stopped next to him. She was holding a half-unwrapped sandwich in her hand and looked like she’d stopped in her tracks just as she was about to take a bite. She’d noticed the homeless man as well and instead of biting into the sandwich, she held it out to him.

“Thank you, miss! God Bless you. I haven’t had a bite in days.” The woman smiled at him. That smile warmed Alex’s heart…and those blue eyes, he’d seen them before, just this morning. She was the woman from the coffee shop, and she was giving the man the sandwich that she’d looked so hungry for.

“You’re welcome…here,” she said. “Maybe you could share this with some of the others.” She handed him the bag of goodies Gigi had packed for her and looked across at the small camp of homeless people not far behind him.

He smiled a toothless smile and said, “You’re an angel, and I will. Thank you.” She smiled again and with her back to Alex walked over to one of the benches and sat down. He wondered if she’d kept the money that was in the bag, or if she’d given it to the homeless as well. Either way, it was the nicest gesture of human kindness he’d personally witnessed in a very long time. It was one thing to be a billionaire and buy a few sandwiches. It was entirely another to be hungry and give away your food. With a resolve to meet this woman, Alex headed in her direction. As he walked up behind her, he watched as she pulled a book out of her bag. It was a hardcover book and the title read: “Shades of Grey.” Alex smiled. She might be hungry, but she was a sexual being as well…he’d hit the jackpot.

“Hi there,” he said, walking around where she could see him.

She looked up at him and the smile she’d been wearing fell from her face. She drew her brows together. “You…you’re the man from the cafe this morning.”

“Yes. Alex…” She cut him off as he held out his hand,

“Are you following me?”

“No. I was just walking through the park and I saw you give that man your food. That was really nice of you.”

She looked down at the ground and when she looked back up, he cheeks were colored with a scarlet blush. “He was hungry. It was no big deal.” She set the book aside and placed her bag on top of it. Alex suppressed a smile. She pulled a newspaper out of her bag then and ignoring him completely now, she opened it to the classifieds.

Alex wasn’t going to be put off so easily. He took a seat next to her and almost smiled again when she scooted the opposite direction to put more space between them. “Sorry, I don’t mean to impose on your quiet time, but, are you looking for a job?”

She sighed. “Can I ask why you’re so concerned about my business?”

With a smile he said, “You didn’t let me finish introducing myself. I’m Alex…” Damn it if she didn’t cut him off again.

“I’m sorry, no offense, but I don’t really care who you are.” She put her paper back in the bag, picked up her book and stood up. Alex let her march a few feet away before pulling out the big guns.

“Well, that’s too bad. I was going to offer to buy you lunch and discuss a business proposition.”

When this book entered my Kindle I was with a huge migraine but I needed to read it, even if it was just the first chapter I needed to. But one chapter turned into two and then half the book was gone. This is my reality when it come to books. It doesn’t matter the hour, the weather, my head, lol, because each book have a different power over me.
Angela Snyder is one of the authors that made me this way. Hey writing is hot and sassy, wild and forbidden, raw and dark, intense but also sweet… Just prepare your heart for this.
Claiming Her is her latest release and tells the stories of Trinity and 4 guys… Yes you heard me… 4 guys…
Trinity was a teacher that loved her job but the apocalypse take it away from her. Now she’s in the run fighting for her life.
On one ride she was caught up in a net and then she was taken to a house with these guys.
Each one is special at their own way and they are also trying to survive. Jack is an ex Marine, Carter was a carpenter, Lucas was a doctor and Owen was a science man.
And I’m done. I can’t say more.
This book was…. Dayum… What a book.
The plot is amazing, very well written and super engaging. Each chapter manage to pull me into it  and I couldn’t stop reading.
I was scared, I was happy, I was sad and I was super hot… Each hot scene… Just get ready.
It was amazing to read a book told by different points of views because getting inside a guy’s head is amazing… The things they think…
Let me just say that this book made my head spin and I was taken away from my comfort zone… I’m not a fantasy girl but everything that this amazing author writes it’s a must read for me.
Oh Angela… You nailed it… I was expecting one thing and Dayum I was surprised… So good.
What’s next? A suspense, a hot story, a comedy??

Piece of Work

Romantic Comedy

I give this book 5 stars!

Don’t judge a book by its cover because you’ll get one big surprise…

Have a look at the blurb:

Marble isn’t the only thing that’s hard at this museum.

His body is as chiseled as Adonis. His lips are as sculpted as David. And his ego is the size of the Guggenheim.

You know the type—wolfish smile and the gravity of a black hole. The kind of man who sucks all the air from the room the second he enters it. My cocky boss thinks this internship was wasted on me, and he doesn’t hesitate to let me know.

But he’s wrong, and I’m going to prove it to him. If I can stay away from his devil lips, that is. Lips that cut me down and kiss me in the same breath, leaving me certain he’s on a mission to ruin my life.

And maybe my heart, too.

*A brand new STANDALONE romantic comedy full of steam, laughs, and heart by bestselling author Staci Hart*

#MyReview:

Seriously… With a cover like this how could I resist?? How??
Then I read the blurb and I was a goner. I needed to read it fast but it had to wait since I was reading another book but when I ended it… Let’s just say that I couldn’t start it fast enough.
Staci Hart has been a constant in my book life and I’m so glad for the chance to read her books.
Her writing is hot and sexy, free and wild, with so much feelings behind each chapter. Each book is special and intense at its own pace.
Piece of Work is her latest release and tells the stories of Rin and Court.
Rin is a sweet girl, super shy with a heart bigger than the world. She’s super clumsy and sometimes awkward but don’t let this fool you because she’s super talented and smart. When she is accepted as an intern in the European Paintings department in Met she can’t imagine the turn her life is about to get. Used to being invisible she almost couldn’t handle the transformation that her best friends did to her…
Court is a hunk of a man and he knows it. He’s cocky, a bit arrogant but behind all that hides someone that was severely hurt… because he’s used to see the worst in people. Being born with money can bring the worst in people.
Being the art curator he’s used to all that’s beautiful and delicate and he’s a bit of a douche..
These two hate each other so freaking much that it was hilarious to see this relationship evolve.
Can Court break his rule?? Can Rin stay this powerful lady all the time or will her awkwardness win?
This book is amazing. It has everything that I love about a good story.
The plot is amazing, very well written, super engaging and powerful. This book presented us with friendship, love, loyalty as well as angst, struggles and let’s not forget the got stuff.
There were parts of the story that I laughed so hard that I almost wet myself but there were others that I wanted to slap someone… Jeez…
Overall I really enjoyed this book and I can assure you that these two are stuck in my heart. I loved them so much.
Oh Staci… You are amazing. Each book is a breath of fresh air and this one just stole my heart. I’m even more in love with your writing and I can’t wait for more.

He (She/He A Duet Book 2) by Kailee Reese Samuels

He

Contemporary/Dark Romance

I give this book 5 stars!

To achieve true happiness sometimes you need to batle your own demons…

Have a look at the blurb:

There was nothing.
No feeling.
No numbness.

That could describe.

I hope she was worth it.

There was nothing.

I hope this hell is worth it.

#MyReview:

Finally this book is here. I was eagerly waiting for it but it looked like time refused to move on. Damn you time…
This only happened because this author is freaking amazing and this duet started perfectly.
Have you read any books from Kailee Reese Samuels? If you have you know why I’m saying this but if you haven’t you really should. Her writing is simple yet powerful, pretty detailed, full of meaning, some suspense, pain and darkness. Just give her a try and see for yourself.
He is her latest release and it’s the final book from the She/He duet. But I need to tell you something. This book is not a standalone therefor you should read She first and then grab this one.
This book continues to explore Natalie and Joe’s story and what a story this was…
I can’t say how this story planed out without spoiling so I’m going to shut it. The only thing that I can say is that this book is not for the weak of heart.
I’m still dealing with all that had happened and the only word that crosses my mind is blackness. It was a pleasure to read this book but I was stunned, hurt, afraid, mad, wild… So many adjectives to describe how I felt and I’m still shaking.
The plot is superb, very well written, super engaging and intense. The darkness was there as well as hope or even love but each struggle, each battle left me thinking that things would get so much worse. The suffering, the pain that each character endured was insane and I thought they would brake.
I’m used to read books from this lady but this book was so much more. It’s a masterpiece, that’s for sure and everyone should give it a go.
Oh Kailee are you trying to kill me? Or drive me insane? Guess what? You almost got it. I’m still shaking. Damn…
